On Tuesday 26th April 2022, the High Commission of the United Republic of Tanzania in Kampala, Uganda hosted a reception at Sheraton Kampala Hotel to celebrate the 58th Anniversary of the United Republic of Tanzania. The event was attended by the Diplomatic Corps including High Commissioners and Ambassadors, Officials from the Government of the Republic of Uganda, business community, Tanzanian Community and friends of Tanzania.

The celebrations reflected on the  Country's continuous advancement on its socio-economic transformation journey.

In his remarks, H.E. Dr. Aziz Ponary Mlima, High Commissioner of the United Republic of Tanzania to the Republic of Uganda highlighted the significant achievements that Tanzania has made since its Union in 1964. He further informed of the recent achievements under the leadership of H.E. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania. Additionally, he underscored the importance of strengthening mutually beneficial commercial and economic ties between Tanzania and Uganda. Moreover, he took the opportunity to welcome Ugandans, members of the Diplomatic Corp accredited to Uganda, business communities to visit different tourist attractions and seize investment opportunities available in Tanzania. 

The celebrations were graced by Hon. John Mulimba (MP), Minister of State for Foreign Affairs (Regional Affairs), who encouraged the Uganda and other business communities to seize the investment opportunities available in Tanzania.
